NAPLES: THE MIRACLE OF SAN GENNARO

Every year in Naples, in May, September and December, it is possible to be witness to the impressive and mysterious miracle of the blood of San Gennaro. The blood, which is almost two millennia old, is solid inside a glass capsule, but turns liquid again during these ceremonies held in the cathedral of Naples. If the blood remains solid, the miracle has not happened: this is interpreted as a negative message for the city of Naples!
